The Chainloop CLI Enterprise Edition is a proprietary extension of the open-source Chainloop CLI that provides additional features and capabilities for enterprise users. It extends the existing Chainloop CLI with platform-specific functionality while maintaining full compatibility with the core Chainloop commands. This reference documents all commands available in the Enterprise Edition, including both the core open-source commands and the enterprise-specific extensions. For installation instructions, see the CLI Installation Guide.

Options

chainloop trace init

Initialize git hooks for automatic AI session tracing Synopsis Initialize git hooks that automatically trace AI coding sessions and create Chainloop attestations when you push. This installs the managed git hooks plus agent-specific hooks for the selected providers. Pass —claude and/or —cursor to pick providers; when neither flag is set, Claude Code is used as the default. Pass —org to pin the Chainloop organization trace attestations target; the value is saved to .chainloop.yml and overrides the CLI default on every push. Pass —workflow to override the workflow name used when initializing trace attestations. The value is saved to .chainloop.yml and defaults to “ai-coding-session” when unset.
Options
Options inherited from parent commands

chainloop trace run

Run a single-shot AI coding session and attest it Synopsis Wrap an external command (typically an AI coding agent) and emit a Chainloop attestation for the session once the command exits successfully. Sessions without git commits are still attested. trace run is isolated: it ignores .chainloop.yml entirely. The attestation identity must come from the —org, —project, —workflow flags (mandatory) and the optional —version flag. It does not read from or write to .chainloop.yml, and removes every hook and local trace artifact when the wrapped command exits, so a session never leaks setup into the next one.

chainloop trace uninstall

Remove trace git hooks and configuration

chainloop transform salt

Fetch Salt Security data and produce EVIDENCE JSON and/or SARIF output Synopsis Fetch data from the Salt Security API and produce output ready for Chainloop attestation workflows. The command supports three categories of data: inventory API endpoint inventory → EVIDENCE JSON (—output-file) posture-gaps Posture gap findings → SARIF 2.1.0 (—sarif-output-file) attackers Attacker findings → SARIF 2.1.0 (—sarif-output-file) By default all categories are fetched. Use —categories to select specific ones. When posture-gaps or attackers are included, a SARIF report is produced. When inventory is included, an EVIDENCE JSON is produced. Severity Mapping (Salt → SARIF): Salt Severity SARIF Level security-severity (CVSS scale) ───────────── ─────────── ────────────────────────────── Critical error 9.5 High error 8.0 Medium warning 5.5 Low note 2.5 Info note 0.1 (non-zero to stay visible in tooling) Posture gap severity comes from the Salt “severity” field. Attacker severity comes from the Salt “rulesSeverity” field. SARIF levels follow the SARIF v2.1.0 specification (3.27.10). The security-severity scores are aligned to CVSS v3.1 qualitative bands (5) since Salt does not provide native CVSS scores. Source Filtering: Salt exposes two independent filter axes on the inventory API: —source-type Salt’s sourceTypes field (e.g. Surface, “Surface Traffic”) —source Salt’s sources field — the collector origin (e.g. sensor) Each axis maps to a distinct column in the Salt UI. For example, the same endpoint may have sourceType=“Surface” and source=“sensor”. Pass both flags to intersect (Salt does the AND server-side); pass either independently to filter on that axis alone. Values must match Salt’s exact casing. When either flag is set, posture gaps are filtered client-side by (host, path, method) against the resulting inventory, and attackers are filtered by api.id. Omit both to include everything.

chainloop transform sonarqube

Transform SonarQube issues and hotspots into SARIF format Synopsis Fetch issues and hotspots from the SonarQube REST API, enrich them with CWE IDs, and produce SARIF 2.1.0 output ready for Chainloop attestation workflows. The output is compatible with existing SARIF policies (cwe-top25, owasp-top10-2025, sast). By default only security-quality issues are fetched (—software-qualities SECURITY). To cover dead/unreachable/unused code, broaden —software-qualities to include MAINTAINABILITY,RELIABILITY or target the specific rule keys with —rules. For SonarQube’s security-sensitive buffer-function rules, include low-priority hotspots with —hotspot-priorities HIGH,MEDIUM,LOW.
